In 2013, Rumi meet a sword polisher for the first time and got fascinated by the world of blade polishing. Until 2019, she trained under several teachers, before taking her independence. In 2015, she met Kuromoto Tomoki, a swordsmith and they got married in 2018.

In 2021, they decided to move to Kyotango City in Kyoto Prefecture. In this beautiful countryside, you can immerse yourself in the world of katakana, the Japanese swords. Rumi and her husband are constantly practicing their art and searching for how to convey and spread the charm of Japanese swords to the world.

Rumi also makes jewelry using the steel essential in sword making. This way, her creation brings into everyone’s lives a little bit of the samouraïs spirits.
